A Biomass stove is the ultimate stylish, modern renewable energy product you can own, enabling you to heat your property and your hot water. Their sleek design & appearance makes them highly desirable and they work well as a contemporary feature in any room.
There are many advantages to switching from gas to biomass stoves because they are very efficient and cost effective to run and pellets are more than 60% more efficient to heat your home.
What is Biomass?
Biomass is a type of fuel that is derived from organic matter. It is a renewable and sustainable source of energy that uses combustion to create heat. Biomass compounds can be made up of scrap lumber, forest debris, crops, animal waste etc. Because these materials are in constant supply and regeneration it makes perfect sense to use them to keep our energy needs sustainable.
How is Biomass used in Stoves?
Biomass stoves burn compressed wood or biomass pellets to create a source of heat. By slowly feeding fuel automatically from the storage container (called the hopper) into the burn tray, a constant flame is created and monitored to ensure maximum efficiency. When burned, the energy in biomass is released as heat.
Easy to operate?
All our biomass stoves are fully programmable, just like traditional gas boilers they use thermostats and time controlled systems. They are easy to use with the practicality of a remote control, giving you control over daily and weekly functions and you can set different temperatures in different time slots during the day as well. You can manage and program the stove even from a smartphone or a tablet which can be useful when you’re away.
Green Square pellet stoves offer:
- Low power consumption
- High efficiency
- Easy to use and fully operated by a user friendly control panel
- Modern design made from steel and cast iron
- Available in a variety of stylish colours
- All our stoves are incredibly powerful yet quiet
- You can opt to have a programmable room thermostat
- Everything we sell is completely compatible with the RHI (Renewable Heating Initiative Scheme) and the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme).
Air and Hydro options
Most of our ranges are available in Air or Hydro versions. Air Stoves simply warm up the room that it is placed into with the No-Air function. This excludes forced ventilation in the stove, ensuring maximum silence and all of the heat diffused throughout the room by natural convection. Hydro stoves are able to heat your entire heating system with the performance of a boiler in a more sustainable and affordable way. Hydro stoves utilise your existing plumbing system and enable you to heat your entire house, hot water and radiators.
Price and Heat Demand Guide
The current tariff available under the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for Biomass Boilers and stoves is 4.21p/kWh.
To get a personalised estimate for your Renewable Heat Incentive returns we suggest using our RHI Calculator as this will take into consideration your current fuel usage, type, location, residents in the property, as well as which heating technology is being considered.
